Spirituality through the curriculum

At Saxilby Church of England Primary School, we seek value in offering spiritual opportunities throughout the curriculum because they help children make sense of themselves, others, and the world around them. Some of these moments arise naturally in the moment, while many are carefully planned and mapped out to ensure pupils have meaningful opportunities to value and understand themselves, relationships and feelings, nature and beauty, and experiences beyond the everyday. We use the model of Window, Mirror, and Door—offering windows to encounter new ideas, mirrors for thoughtful reflection, and doors for transformation through action. Through this approach, spirituality becomes a natural and enriching part of learning across our whole curriculum.
